It is very important to maintain your batteries correctly so as to ensure a good charge and long life. This is especially true if not using your radio / battery most days.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES

DO NOT:

  • Use a battery that is in any way damaged.

  • Discard of your battery in a fire or apply any direct heating source.

  • Dismantle or in any way damage your battery.

  • Carry charged batteries where the batteries contacts may be shorted by metal objects, e.g. in a pocket or bag etc.

YOU MUST:

  • Follow all Entel instructions with regards battery safety, care & operation.

  • Prior to charging or use, carefully dry wet batteries using a microfiber or lint free cloth.

  • Only use Entel chargers.


BATTERY CARE – DAY TO DAY USE / SHORT TERM STORAGE - ON THE RADIO

So as to ensure a good charge & long life, it is very important to maintain your batteries correctly. This is especially true if not using your radio / battery on a regular basis:

  • You must charge the battery before first use or within 3-months of receipt, whichever is soonest.

  • Recommended charging temperature is 10C to 40C.

  • Short term storage temperature range is -20C to +60C. Please note, these are the extremes, see long term storage temperature range below for ideal conditions.

  • When the battery is charged / stored attached to a radio:

o   For DN radios, re-charge prior to use, or within 7-days, whichever is soonest*

* When not being used on a weekly basis, we strongly recommend storing the battery off the radio (see below).

BATTERY CARE - LONG TERM STORAGE - OFF THE RADIO, LIFE & WARRANTY

Long-term Storage:

  • You must charge the battery before first use or within 3-months of receipt.

  • For long term storage, store Store off the radio in a well-ventilated area.

  • Store batteries within a temperature range of 20°C +/- 5°C & at a humidity of 30% to 60%.

  • Do not store batteries with flammable materials.

  • For long term storage you You must charge the battery within 3-months of receipt and then re-charge the battery every 6-months.

  • Shelf life for a correctly maintained battery is in excess of 24-months, however a batteries capacity will drop over time.

  • Shelf life for an un-maintained battery is no more than 3-months.
