DN: DN495 is ‘Disconnected’ – check list
RADIO IS DISCONNECTED…..WHAT TO CHECK
There are many possible reasons why a radio could show ‘disconnected’ on the display. This is most likely to be because the radio cannot reach the PoC server due to no cellular or WiFi signal, or because the user account on the server for that radio does not match the radio’s provisioned settings. Please refer to one of the following pages:
Cellular (LTE) connection. If there is no cellular (or WiFi) connection, the radio will not be able to contact the PoC server. For cellular settings, please refer to the following page: DN: DN495 cellular connection – check list
WiFi connection. If there is no WiFi connection (or cellular), the radio will not be able to contact the server. For wifi settings, please refer to the following page: DN: WiFi connection
User Settings. Some user settings have a direct impact on how the radio connects to the server. Please refer to the following page for more details: DN:User Settings
Self-Test. This can provide a quick check of some basic functionality, including the tilt sensor. DN: Self Test (including Man Down Sensor)
Server Settings. The PoC server user account for the radio may be missing or invalid. This can happen if the radio is being moved from an existing server to a different server where there is no corresponding user account, or if the username or password for that account does not match the radio settings. A DN radio that is moved to a server that has no matching user account may be become blocked, which then must be cleared from the Blocked Clients List (BCL) in T.Commander. Radio Re-boot (Cold Boot). If the operating system has become corrupted for any reason, a cold boot could resolve a connection problem. Switching the radio off using the on/off volume switch does not completely shut down the radio, instead it stays in a low power state. This is convenient because restarting the radio from this state is much quicker (referred to as ‘warm boot’) than loading all the software from scratch. However, sometimes it may be necessary to perform a ‘cold boot’ by removing the battery from the radio before switching it back on.
Factory Reset. If the DN radio is still disconnected after reviewing the settings as detailed above without success, then all user settings can be cleared in one action to return the radio to the factory default configuration. MENU/SETTINGS/ABOUT/FACTORY RESET/Confirm reset
Please note that disconnection due to server related issues will not be resolved with the Factory Reset option.
