DN: DN495 cellular connection – check list

BASICS:

  1. Check the radio display for a cellular signal. Look for 2G, 3G or 4G and signal bars. If nothing is displayed, there is no cellular connection. Check cellular settings.

  2. Check cellular operator and RSSI. Double press the info (dot) button. If there is none listed, check the cellular settings.

  3. Check cellular settings – Main Menu/Settings/Cellular/

  4. Check cellular is enabled (ticked)

CELLULAR CHECKER:

The CELLULAR CHECKER feature automatically checks over a 5 minute period for any one of the following:

  1. Not being connected at all

  2. Connected only on 2g

  3. Multiple changes between networks (>= 3)

  4. Multiple disconnect/reconnects to the PoC server (>=5)

If any of these is true after 5 minutes then the radio will reconnect the network, with default settings of Auto Carrier Selection, and prefer 4G. It will either do this silently or after confirming with the user, depending on the options being set.

CELLULAR RECONNECT:

The CELLULAR RECONNECT function is used to re scan the available networks and connect to the best one available in the local area and with 4G as a preference. It is similar to doing a network scan and then selecting AUTO. It should be used if the DN is experiencing Cellular Connection issues that are not automatically resolved by the CELLULAR CHECKER
