DX radio going to sleep / re-starting
DX radio going to sleep / re-starting
Issue:
A DX radio appears intermittently un-responsive (goes to sleep) or shuts down and re-starts.
After some use a DX radios battery has a loose fit.
Cause:
The battery latching springs have been stretched or pulled out of position.
This is caused by repeatedly catching the radio on objects whilst worn on the belt / pulling off the belt without disengaging the belt clip fully.
It creates a loose battery fit, causing intermittent disconnection of the battery contacts from the radio.
Recommendation:
Replace any damaged batteries.
Use a carry case to avoid any further damage to battery latching springs.
