DT radio no receive audio issue

Issue:

We’re aware of a small number of DT radios that can present the following symptoms:

• The radio is receiving (green LED) but there is no audio coming out of the speaker.

• Also, the radio doesn’t play the fanfare sound at start up and doesn’t play any of the audible alert / beep tones.

Cause:

• This would only be an issue when operating the radio continuously at maximum volume.

• This causes by the audio output stage safety fuse to blow.

• This was down to a defective batch of fuses that would blow at a slightly lower current than specified.

Recommendation:

• Assuming the radio is still under warranty, Entel will carry out a free of charge replacement the audio safety fuse.

• If you have other radios purchase around the same time, please add a list of model and serial numbers to your ticket so Entel can verify if any are from the affected batch.
